UFC 192 Date: October 3, 2015 Arena: Toyota Center City: Houston, TX The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Houston, TX for the fourth time in promotional history this Saturday night (October 3, 2015) with UFC 192: Cormier vs Gustafsson. The action-packed and stacked 13-fight card kicks off on UFC Fight Pass at 6pm ET, with televised prelims following on FOX Sports 1 at 8pm ET and main card action getting going on Pay Per View at 10pm. If interested in wagering on this parlay, or any bouts on this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. Here is my two-way heavyweight parlay for UFC 192: Heavyweight title bout: Ruslan Magomedov (-160) vs Shawn Jordan (+140) Gabe’s Thoughts: “The Savage” is coming off the biggest win of his Octagon career, which was a second round knockout of Derrick Lewis that came in incredible, highlight-reel fashion. At the start of the second stanza, he hurt and dropped Lewis with a surprising hook-kick, and followed it up with punches on the mat until the referee intervened and called off the action, rewarding Jordan with the victory; his third straight in the UFC, with all three wins coming by way of T/KO. Magomedov aims to snap Jordan’s three-fight winning streak, while simultaneously making it three in a row for himself inside the Octagon (and nine straight overall), with a pair of unanimous decision victories over Viktor Pesta and former RFA heavyweight champion Josh Copeland already under his belt. After a near year-long layoff, the Dagestani fighter returns to action to take on Jordan in what is arguably the biggest test of his professional mixed martial arts career. I think Magomedov is the superior mixed martial artist heading into this heavyweight affair and think he should be a -340 betting favorite, so I really like him at his current asking price of -160. I think he successfully keeps this fight on the feet and handily outstrikes Jordan, either stopping him with strikes or cruising to a unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards. Gabe’s Call: Magomedov by T/KO (strikes, 0:53 round 1) Heavyweight bout: Derrick Lewis (+140) vs Viktor Pesta (-160) Gabe’s Thoughts: For Starters, I think Pesta wants it more and is a lot hungrier. I think he will give more for a win than Lewis will. Pesta has title shot dreams, but Lewis is simply fighting for a paycheck. Heart and hunger aside, I think the only real advantage Lewis has in this fight is pure power. I think he can only be dangerous if he gets on top of Pesta, which I could see happening in this bout, but I don’t think Pesta will wilt in that position, should he find himself there. I think he will survive and find a way out and end up getting the better of Lewis. The longer this heavyweight scrap plays out, the more it favors Pesta, in my opinion, as I think he is the fighter of the two who possesses the superior cardio. If Lewis fails to secure a finish in the first stanza, I think Pesta will either put him away or pick up a unanimous decision nod on the judges’ scorecards, following three rounds of heavyweight action. I think Pesta should be a -310 betting favorite in this heavyweight contest and do like him at his current price tag of -160. Gabe’s Call: Pesta by T/KO (punches, 2:27 round 2) Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: Magomedov (-160) and Pesta (-160) at +164 for 5u to win 8.2u
