UFC 192 Date: October 3, 2015 Arena: Toyota Center City: Houston, TX The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Houston, TX for the fourth time in promotional history this Saturday night (October 3, 2015) with UFC 192: Cormier vs Gustafsson. The action-packed and stacked 13-fight card kicks off on UFC Fight Pass at 6pm ET, with televised prelims following on FOX Sports 1 at 8pm ET and main card action getting going on Pay Per View at 10pm. My Fights to AVOID betting for UFC 192: Light Heavyweight bout: Rashad Evans (-160) vs Ryan Bader (+140) Gabe’s Thoughts: In my eyes, this is a coin-flip fight, which means I think there is some betting value in Bader at his current betting line of +140, however I am opting to pass on it for a wager. I think this is going to be a really close fight; perhaps the type of scrap that could go either way when the judges’ at Octagon-side enter the picture, following the 15-minutes of co-main event action. Bader was looked over for a title shot and is hungry to make a statement heading into this 205-pound contest. Evans is coming off an extended layoff, which follows a first round TKO win over Chael Sonner, and that fight also came following an extended layoff. They were not a factor against Sonnen, but they could certainly be more of a factor against Bader, as I believe Bader wants to win a lot more than Sonnen did. If both fighters are on top of their game, I think Evans wins this fight either by knockout or decision, but all factors considered, I am leaning towards Bader as my official pick. He has been improving from fight to fight, and unlike Evans, has been active. I think there is a good chance he gets his hand raised in Houston this Saturday night, however as far as a wager is concerned, that trigger finger still feels a little shy. Gabe’s Call: Bader by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID Welterweight bout: Johny Hendricks (-280) vs Tyron Woodley (+240) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Hendricks should be a -280 betting favorite heading into this welterweight contest, which means I am in full agreement with his current offering price of, well, -280. I think he deserves that line, but as far as a bet goes, there is no value in it to make it worth a pull on the trigger. I think Hendricks is the superior wrestling heading into this bout, not to mention the superior striker, so I believe he will have the advantage, regardless of where the fight takes place. Hendricks and Woodley are amongst the hardest hitting welterweights in the division, so a knockout is possible by either party at any given moment. We are best off staying away from this one at the sportsbooks this weekend, while sitting back with a cold one and making sure not to blink.
