UFC 192 Date: October 3, 2015 Arena: Toyota Center City: Houston, TX The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Houston, TX for the fourth time in promotional history this Saturday night (October 3, 2015) with UFC 192: Cormier vs Gustafsson. The action-packed and stacked 13-fight card kicks off on UFC Fight Pass at 6pm ET, with televised prelims following on FOX Sports 1 at 8pm ET and main card action getting going on Pay Per View at 10pm. Here are a pair of two-way parlays for UFC 192’s Fight Pass Prelims: Lightweight bout: Adriano Martins (-105) vs Islam Makhachev (-115) Gabe’s Thoughts: Man, it is so tough to go against Martins at this point in time, with him coming off a split decision win over Rustam Khabilov, who arguably could defeat Makhachev. That said, I do think this is a fight Makhachev could win and will win more often than not. I think he is the fighter of the two who has a better chance of finishing the fight, as well as taking it on the judges’ scorecards. I think he should be a -160 betting favorite in this contest, so I see enough value in him at his current asking price of -115 to make him worthy of a leg in a parlay. Gabe’s Call: Makhachev by Majority Decision (29-28, 29-29, 30-27) Lightweight bout: Francisco Trevino (+300) vs Sage Northcutt (-320) Gabe’s Thoughts: Trevino suffered the first loss of his professional mixed martial arts career in his latest (and second) Octagon outing at UFC 188 three months ago, where he took on Johnny Case and lost the bout via unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards following three one-sided rounds of action. Trevino was a massive underdog heading into that contest, and I felt he had a decent chance of upsetting Case. I was proven wrong, as Case dominated him throughout the contest. I personally think Northcutt is a tougher opponent than Case and see this as a step up in competition for Trevino only three short months after having his first taste of defeat. Northcutt is making his Octagon debut in this contest and is doing so just one month after defeating Rocky Long via second round neck-crank submission under the Legacy FC banner, the promotion which also employed Trevino prior to signing with the UFC. Not only is this fight a quick turnaround for Northcutt, but it is in fact his fifth pro bout in as many months. He turned pro only 10 months ago and has a professional mixed martial arts record of 5-0 heading into his Octagon debut against the Texas based Mexican, Trevino. Prior to submitting Long in the second round a month ago at Legac FC 44, Northcutt has finished all of his opponents within the very first round of action. I believe Trevino is a big test for Northcutt and is the biggest challenge of his young career, however I think it is one he can and should pass with flying colors, even if Octagon jitters play somewhat of a factor.
