MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 142 light heavyweight Tito Ortiz as he prepares for his upcoming main event title fight this Saturday night (September 19, 2015) against Liam McGeary at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
The former UFC light heavyweight champion and Hall of Famer wasn’t afraid to mince words when discussing Liam McGeary’s physical strength, which is a place he feels he’ll have a significant advantage:
“I’m gonna be in [Liam McGeary’s] face and I’m taking his length away. It’s gonna be a scrap. Let’s see how big he comes in. I know he’s having problems keeping weight on. He’s a skinnier guy. He’s not gonna be super strong. When I talked to Emanuel Newton, he was like, ‘Dude, he was so weak.’ It’s funny, because the weekend [Liam] fought Emanuel Newton, I shook his hand and seriously, it felt like shaking a girl’s hand. This guy’s like a chick.”
Ortiz also had a pretty interesting opinion on the recent Nick Diaz suspension:
“To get five years for testing positive for marijuana, which stays in your system for over 30 days, maybe he did it two months prior, a month prior. But still, for five years, are you serious? It just shows how much Dana [White] hates Nick Diaz. The UFC hates him”
