The “Premier Boxing Champions” series has a Tuesday night engagement at the Hollywood Palladium that is set to air on Fox Sports 1. The series, which is art of boxing power-player Al Haymon’s empire, started in March of this year and has been running what are basically weekly shows on a variety of networks. This offering is one of the few on Tuesday night, where they will run unopposed by other combat sports. The Super Welterweight bout is set at 10 rounds with Trout a big (-1700) favorite vs Hernandez, who is coming back at (+1100). The over/under has been put at 9 1/2, with the over paying at (-300) and the under coming back at (+250). Trout is in desperate need of a spectacular win to get his career back on track. Unfortunately, against the workman-like Hernandez he has been matched tough for that. Hernandez has stood in gamely against his toughest opposition, going the distance with Cornelius Bundrage (32-5) and Julian Williams (18-0-1), but in the end most observers had him losing every round. I n terms of technical boxing, Trout has established himslef as nearly elite, with a win over Miguel Cotto and going the distance in losses to Saul Alvarez and Erislandy Lara. There can be little doubt as to who the more technical boxer is and likewise, little doubt over who has faced the higher level of competition. For Trout coming off losses on big paydays, there ae open questions about his motivation and ability to work himself to peak condition in the wake of the clash influx he earned facing Alvarez. Though the Sper Welterweight divisin is packed with talent, a prie and motivated Trout has to like his chsances against Bundrage, Willie Nelson and Joshua Clottey , all whom are ranked ahead of him right now. Haymon has hooked up with promoter Tom Brown to produce the event, which features nine fights total at the Palladium. Also expected to air on the “PBC” broadcast is the Super Bantamweight 10 rounder between surging Jorge Lara (27-0-1) and Jesus Rojas (21-1-1). The other seven matches feature prospects versus workhorses as several up and comers such as Ahmed Elbiali (11-0) and Eddie Ramirez (9-0) are both fighting their second matches scheduled for eight rounds.
