The injury bug bit the UFC in the butt today as Rory MacDonald is out of his UFC 158 matchup with Carlos Condit due to a neck injury suffered in training. In MacDonald’s place steps Johny Hendricks, and he’ll fight Condit in the new three-round co-main event of the evening. The news was originally reported by MMAjunkie.com‘s John Morgan. With the switcheroo — which is extremely disappointing to all seeing as though Condit vs. MacDonald was an early favorite to win “Fight of the Night” — Jake Ellenberger, who was set to fight Hendricks, is left without an opponent, although it’s rumored Tyron Woodley may take the fight on short notice. Expect the MMA odds for Hendricks vs. Condit to be very competitive, although Hendricks will likely be a small favorite due to his wrestling advantage. Jansen vs. Held Postponed Again An injury to Marcin Held has again forced the postponement of his Bellator Season 7 Lightweight Tournament Final against Dave Jansen for the second time, according to a report from MMAjunkie.com. The lightweights were first set to meet at Bellator 84 but the Indian Athletic Commission wouldn’t allow Held, who was 20 at the time, to enter the casino and the fight was embarrassingly scratched at the last minute. Now the rain date, which was set to take place at the upcoming Bellator 92 event, has been rearranged as well, and the two will now meet at Bellator 93.
