MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 73 bantamweight Marlon Vera as he prepares for his upcoming preliminary card bout this Saturday night (August 8, 2015) against Roman Salazar at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.
The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America season one veteran is looking to make a good impression in what he considers his official UFC debut, and he believes he has what it takes to give fans what they want to see:
“I watched a couple fights of [Roman Salazar] against Kid Yamamoto and Mitch Gagnon. He’s a wrestler. He came from the team of wrestlers like Henry Cejudo and Patrick Williams. I think I’ve fought tougher guys than him. Every single fight is different. You can say this guy is better than that one, but every fight is different. I’m prepared for this guy. We have a strategy for this fight. I’m coming to put on a show in the UFC. I want to stay in the UFC so I have to prove why I should be in the UFC because this is my official UFC debut. I will prove that I’m ready to stay here. I don’t want to just make one fight and lose and go back to Latin America. I know what they want and I will put on a show and I will beat this guy… If he gives me the chance to finish him. I will do it.”
