UFC 190 Date: August 1, 2015 Arena: HSBC Arena City: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Rio de Janeiro tomorrow (August 1, 2015) with UFC 190: Rousey vs Correia with a stacked 13-fight card. Main card action will get going at 10pm ET on Pay Per View, with preliminary action preceding it at 8pm ET on FOX Sports 1 and a pair of scraps on UFC Fight Pass prior to that at 7pm ET. If interested in wagering on these plays, or any plays for this fight card, all betting lines will be made available at Several Bookmakerss. Here are my live dogs for UFC 190: Women’s Strawweight bout: Claudia Gadelha (-450) vs Jessica Aguilar (+360) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think this fight is a lot closer than the betting odds suggest and think Aguilar has a decent shot of pulling out the upset. I lean towards Gadhela to get the win, even if she does not quite deserve it, as I could see her hometown advantage favoring her in such a situation. I see this as being a closely contested fight that hits the judges’ scorecards for a decision, where it could be anybody’s night depending on who’s sitting at Octagon-side. Gabe’s Call: Gadelha by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Aguilar (+360) 1.5u to win 5.4u Bantamweight bout: Iuri Alcantara (-260) vs Leandro Issa (+220) Gabe’s Thoughts: It seems as if Alcantara is on a decline, while Iss has been getting better. Alcantara is coming off the worst performance of his career, and Issa is coming off the best of his. Assuming the two continue on their current paths, Issa should be able to grind Alcantara out over three rounds of action to pick up a judges’ decision here. As long as Issa does not get finished early, I think he has a good chance of winning this fight. At his current price of +220, I think he is the right side for a play in this contest. Gabe’s Call: Issa by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Issa (-105) 2u to win 4.4u Bantamweight bout: Guido Cannetti (+360) vs Hugo Viana (-450) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is another fight in which I think the betting lines are completely off and the public is driving them further off. I am a fan of Viana’s but I think Cannetti has a legitimate chance of upsetting him and I think +360 is a lot of value to be getting on him. I see this as a close fight that could go either way, but I think the most likely outcome is Cannetti winning via T/KO, likely in the first stanza. Gabe’s Call: Cannetti by T/KO (punches, 0:42 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Cannetti (+360) 2u to win 7.2u
