Invicta FC took place tonight in Las Vegas, Nevada, and overall it was an entertaining card that provided a few key upsets in title fights, as well as a brutal beatdown in the main event. Overall from a betting perspective, four betting favorites were victorious while two underdogs won and one fight was a Pick ’em based on the closing odds at Several Bookmakers. Here’s a quick recap for each fight. Invicta FC 13 Favorites That Won In a featherweight bout, Cris Cyborg defeated Faith Van Duin via first-round TKO (knee to the body and punches) to retain the Invicta FC featherweight championship. Another squash match for the champ. Cyborg closed at a whopping -3050 (bet $3050 to win $100) while Van Duin closed at +1400 (bet $100 to win $1400). In a bantamweight bout, Pannie Kianzad defeated Jessica Rose-Clark via unanimous decision (30-27). Kianzad just outclassed Rose-Clark in this one to easily win a decision. Kianzad was -485 while Rose-Clark was +350. In a strawweight bout,Jamie Moyle defeated Amy Montenegro via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28). This was a competitive, back-and-forth fight but the judges felt that Moyle was the more effective striker and she took a close decision. Moyle was -270 while Montenegro was +210. Invicta FC 13 Underdogs That Won In an atomweight bout, Ayaka Hamasaki defeated Herica Tiburcio via split decision (48-47, 47-48, 49-46) to become the new Invicta FC atomweight champion. This was a competitive fight that was well matched, but Hamasaki held top control for longer and eeked out a close one. Tiburcio was -260 while Hamasaki won at +200. In an atomweight bout, Amber Brown defeated Catherine Costigan via first-round submission (rear-naked choke). Browne took her to the ground and tapped her out quickly to get the victory. Costigan was -150 while Brown was +120. In a featherweight bout, Amber Leibrock defeated Marina Shafir via first-round KO (punches). Leibrock stormed across the cage, caught Shafir’s chin, and then pounded her out for a big upset win. Leibrock was +300 while Shafir was -390. Invicat FC 13 Pick ‘Em Fights In a bantamweight bout, Tonya Evinger defeated Irene Aldana via fourth-round TKO (punches) to become the new Invicta FC bantamweight champion. Evinger absolutely dominated Aldana with her wrestling and positions, eventually getting mount and pounding her out for the win. Both women closed at -115.
