Here’s my two-way parlay for UFC Fight Night 70: Welterweight bout: Santiago Ponzinibbio (+180) vs Lorenz “Da Monsoon” Larkin (-220) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think this 170-pound scrap is going to play out on the feet in entirety, and I could realistically see a T/KO finish coming by either party, though I think Larkin, who I feel is the superior technical striker has a slightly better chance of ending the night in devastating fashion. However, should the fight hit the judges’ scorecards for a decision, it is again Larkin’s superior technical striking that I think will be the difference in the eyes of the judges’ at Octagon-side. I think “Da Monsoon” will manage to outpoint the Argentinian over the course of three rounds to pick up the nod, if not find the finish. Gabe’s Call: Larkin by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-28) Middleweight bout: Antonio Carlos Junior (-185) vs Eddie “Truck” Gordon (+160) Gabe’s Thoughts: Gordon is making a quick turnaround following a split decision loss to Chris Dempsey just a couple of months ago. He showed up hungry and in shape for this fight, weighing in at 184-pounds at the weigh-ins yesterday and looking great. I think he has a decent chance of winning this fight, if he opts to completely turn it into a wrestling match. That said, I’m not sure that will be his gameplan. I think he’s gonna stand and trade with the Brazilian, and I think that will spell trouble for him. I could see Carlos Junior employing his own offensive wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to outgrapple Gordon, however I favor him to look to keep it standing and finish the fight with his hands. Gabe’s Call: ACJ by T/KO (punches, 3:18 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Parlay: Larkin (-220) and Carlos Junior (-185) at +124 for 1.7u to win 2.1u
