Bellator 138 took place earlier tonight (Friday, June 19, 2015) at the Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, Kansas. It was a strange card, with a number of quick finishes on the main card and some big surprises. Curran closed at -380 (Bet $380 to win $100) while Sanchez lost at +340 (Bet $100 to win $340). Bellator 139 Betting Underdogs That Won In the main event of the evening, heavyweight Cheick Kongo utilized his superior wrestling to defeat former champion Alexander Volkov via unanimous decision. Kongo took Volkov down each round and battered the Russian with elbows to convincingly win all three rounds. Kongo was a +140 underdog while Volkov closed at -150. In a middleweight match-up, kickboxer Joe Schilling was stunned by journeyman Hisaki Kato to the tune of a brutal early second round knockout. Kato tricked Schilling with a superman punch that landed flush and put the Glory standout to sleep. Kato was a massive +435 dog while Schilling failed to deliver again, this time as a -500 favorite. No Contests In a lightweight match-up, the bout between David Rickels and John Allessio ended in a no contest. Rickels had Allessio hurt in the first round but unloaded an illegal knee as Allessio dropped to the canvas which stopped the fight and resulted in a no contest. Rickels closed at -230 while Allessio was +210.
