The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returned to Brazil last night (May 30, 2015) with UFC Fight Night 67 and produced a night of solid scraps. With the event now in our rear-view, let’s take a look at which of the evening’s competitors we may no longer see inside the Octagon… ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK Ryan Jimmo Jimmo made waves in the UFC’s light heavyweight division with his promotional debut at UFC 149, where he scored a seven-second, one-punch knockout of veteran Anthony “The Hippo” Perosh. The future looked bright for the Canadian, but unfortunately it did not turn out to be so, as he went on to lose four of his next six bouts, and is now on a two-fight skid. I would not be surprised to see “The Real Deal” get another fight in the UFC, but considering his record, age and proneness to injury, I think there is a good chance he will be getting released from the promotion. If he gets another fight, the UFC will likely be serving him up to someone who they want to see win; a type of fight in which he’d be a massive underdog heading in. That, or they could just put him on a Canadian card, as he is somewhat of a fan favorite, despite his often lackluster style of fighting. Wendell Oliveira The Brazilian made his promotional debut against Santiago Ponzinibbio last year, losing the bout via knockout just over a minute into the very first round of action. It was an entertaning war between him and the Argentinian, but his aggression cost him that fought. He was scheduled to take on TJ Waldburger at last night’s UFC Fight Night 67 in Brazil, but Waldburger withdrew from the bout due to injury and was replaced by Brazil-based Englishman Darren Till, who kept his undefeated record intact against Oliveira, by defeating him via knockout in the second round of action. The Brazilian is now 0-2 inside the Octagon, with both losses coming by way of brutal knockout. Considering the fashion in which he lost both contests, I think there is a good chance we have seen this Oliveira inside of the Octagon for the last time.
