MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 55 middleweight Mark Munoz as he prepares for his upcoming main card bout this Saturday (May 16, 2015) against Luke Barnatt at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Philippines.
The longtime veteran is calling it a career after this fight, but he’s still incredibly motivated to come out and put on a show against Luke Barnatt and go out with a win:
“It’s a perfect, perfect match for me. I’m training with Kendall Grove who I fought before and now it’s kinda like I’m fighting Luke Barnatt every day. The style is good too. For me, obviously I’m not gonna fight on the outside. It’s no secret. [Luke Barnatt] knows I’m gonna get inside, put my hands on him and I’m gonna wrestle him and put him on the ground and trade Donkey Kong after that. That’s no secret, but there’s different ways to get it to the ground, different ways to grapple, different ways on how to capitalize for my wrestling. Yes, he’s very good and very tough but I’m definitely gonna test his skills as far as putting everything together. Test his transitions, his escapes from the bottom and definitely put his chin to the test too.”
