The world’s foremost kickboxing promotion returns for an early event on Friday — which will be available via tape delay on Friday night for North Americans — and two titles will be on the line. The main event of the card is a rematch between lightweight champion Robin van Roosmalen and the man who defeated him to win GLORY’s lightweight championship tournament back in November 2013, Andy Ristie. Ristie then dropped his next bout — which was for the lightweight championship — to Davit Kiria, via stunning fifth round TKO. Van Roosmalen went on to defeat Kiria at GLORY 18 to capture the belt, and that’s how we’ve arrived at our present situation. The other title fight is in the featherweight division, where either Gabriel Varga or Mosab Amrani will become the promotion’s inaugural 145lb champion. Although young in his kickboxing career, Varga has proven a top notch competitor. Amrani has far more professional experience, and has won four of his past five bouts, so he is riding a high into this title bout. Both men suffered their most recent losses at GLORY 8 against Japanese featherweights, but had to travel to Tokyo to compete in those fights, so a potential rematch for either in a more favorable locale would be interesting. The remainder of the main card is rounded out by a middleweight contender tournament featuring Wayne Barrett, Simon Marcus, Jason Wilnis, and Alex Pereira.
