UFC Fight Night 62 Date: 3/21/15 Arena: Maracanazinho Gymnasium City: Rio de Janeiro, Brazil The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil this tomorrow night (Mar. 21st, 2015) with UFC Fight Night 62. The event will feature a 12-fight card that is to be headlined by a five-round welterweight tilt between the Brazilian Demian Maia and New York native Ryan LaFlare. Main card action gets underway on FOX Sports 1 at 10pm, with preliminary action preceding it on the same television channel at 8pm and a pair of bouts coming before that on UFC Fight Pass at 7pm ET. If interested in wagering on these props, or any other for this fight card, all lines will be made available to you at Several Bookmakerss. I believe these UFC Fight Night 62 ‘FOTN’ contenders hold the most value: Fili/Pepey +575 — I think this pairing of featherweights has the potential to be the most entertaining fight on the entire card. There is a chance that this fight could result in a quick finish, but I think as long as it lasts at least a few minutes, I think it will be a contender for a bonus. Similar to how Donald Cerrone vs Melvin Guillard did not last very long but took home ‘Fight of the Night’ honors that evening, anyway. Fili and Pepey are both riding win streaks and looking to climb up the 145-pound ladder, and I think one of them does so with a highlight-reel victory. Before getting the victory, I am expecting some fun action. Should these two take home the bonus, it would mean the first time for both fighters. I started writing this when the line was at +700, but even at +575, I think there’s value. I say this is worth a bet at +400 or better. Carrizosa/Mafra +950 — Both lightweights look to pick up their first win in the UFC, and as long as there is no quick finish, this is another fight I could see proving to be really entertaining. The majority, if not entirety would play out on the feet, and I think it would be an entertaining striking exchange between two fighters looking for a finish. They both possess finishing ability, but they are both also tough, and I could see things playing out for a while, and potentially reaching the judges’ scorecards for a decision. That said, I do favor the fight to end inside the distance, and in highlight-reel fashion. Should these 155-pounders take home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ honors, it would of course be the first time for both of them. At it’s current betting tag of +950, I think this is worth a stab.
