Here are my plays for Titan FC 33: Featherweight bout: Andre Harrison (-165) vs Cody Bollinger (+125) Gabe’s Thoughts: Not only do I think Harrison is the better fighter of the two featherweights here, but I think he also has the brighter future in the sport. I think he should be a -200 favorite in this contest, so I like him for a play at his current betting price of -165. I could see him stopping Bollinger or winning a decision, but I am leaning more towards a decision. I think he gets the better of Bollinger on the feet and winds up earning the biggest win of his career, potentially earning a call from the UFC. The way I see Bollinger winning this fight is by grinding Harrison out, and I don’t think Harrison will allow that to happen for two out of three rounds. He may end up giving away a round, but I think he will manage to get the better of Bollinger for at least two out of three, should the judges’ end up having to make the call. Gabe’s Call: Harrison by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Harrison (-165) 1.65u to win 1u Bantamweight bout: Anthony Gutierrez (-155) vs Austin Lyons (+115) Gabe’s Thoughts: This is a very close fight to call and I lean with Lyons to get his hand raised. While I do think this is more or less a coin-flip scenario, I think Lyons should be -130 in this spot, so at underdog odds, I’ll take a shot. The winner of this bout will likely earn a shot at the Titan FC bantamweight title in his next outing, which could be vacant, considering the winner of the evening’s 135-pound title bound could be UFC bound. Gabe’s Call: Lyons by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Lyons (+115) 1u to win 1.15u And here is my two-way parlay for the card… Featherweight title bout: Desmond Green (-210) vs Kurt Holobaugh (+160) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think Green will manage to get the better of Holobaugh both on the feet and on the mat in this bout, ultimately earning a convincing unanimous decision victory on the judges’ scorecards, if not earning another stoppage. I could see him winning via decision, T/KO or submission, and do believe this is Green’s fight to lose. I think he gets his hand raised here and gets a call from Sean Shelby and the UFC. He is undoubtedly the superior wrestler heading into this scrap, and should use said advantage to dictate where the fight takes place. If he opts to keep it on the feet, at this point in their careers, Green has evolved into a solid striker and will also hold the advantage there. Again, I think this is his fight to lose, and I don’t see that happening. I think it’s likely we’ll be seeing Green in action inside the Octagon by the end of the year. Gabe’s Call: Green by Unanimous Decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45) Bantamweight title bout: Brett Johns (-210) vs Walel Watson (+160) Gabe’s Thoughts: To put it simply, I think Johns is the superior mixed martial artist heading into this five round co-main event bout and see him getting his hand raised, be it by finish or decision. He is another fighter who I think is UFC bound, and capturing the Titan FC bantamweight title with a win over a UFC veteran (Watson) could very well be just what it takes to get his foot in the door. I think Watson could win this fight only by catching Johns with a lucky shot or a sneaky submission with his long limbs, and I do not like the odds of that happening. Even at -210, I believe there is value with Johns, and like him for the second leg to this two-teamer.
