MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 60 featherweight Cole Miller about his upcoming co-main event bout Saturday night (Feb. 14, 2015) against Max Holloway at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado.
The talented Ultimate Fighter season five contestant expects a very tough challenge from the surging Holloway and he feels it’s due to the massive growth in skill the Hawaiian has displayed thus far in his UFC career:
“Maybe [Max] will try to do some new things. He’s a fighter who has evolved pretty rapidly. When you look at his first fight or his third or fourth fight in the UFC compared to now, there’s a big improvement. And he didn’t just improve on what he was already good at, like how other fighters get comfortable in. They’re a good striker so they just work on their striking. Instead, he’s improved on his wrestling ability, he’s improved on his ground and submission attempts and we’ve seen some pretty solid guillotines and triangles from bottom. So there’s no doubt he can fight in all areas. I noticed he usually tries to avoid the clinch. I’m not so sure why. He’s a tall fighter and he’s shown he can throw knees and elbows but he usually throws those at distance, but maybe he’ll try to work on that and show he can do that too.”
