Kelades does offer monster value at +425, and I did in fact consider him for one of the plays in my “live dogs” article, which I may end up skipping for this card, as it does not look like it will really be a night where the dogs start barking. Regardless of how long it lasts, I think this is going to be an entertaining 125-pound fight, so I think we’re best off staying away from it at the sportsbooks and allowing the fight fan in us to enjoy it fully. Gabe’s Call: Borg by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID Lightweight bout: Efrain Escudero (-115) vs Rodrigo Lima (-105) Gabe’s Thoughts: I lean Escudero here to pick up the win, but I don’t feel comfortable putting my money behind him against the Brazilian who is set to make his UFC 155-pound debut. Escudero is a fighter who is well-rounded and presents threats in every department, but on the down-side he is a fighter who does not mentally (and sometimes physically) show up for every time. I have a feeling he will do well in this contest, but I can’t trust him right now, even more importantly I can’t recommend him for a wager. At -105, there absolutely is zero value in the Brazilian, in my opinion, so that means there is no reason to fade Escudero and we have to ultimately skip this one.
