UFC 183 Date: January 31, 2015 Arena: MGM Grand Garden Arena City: Las Vegas, NV The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back in Las Vegas this tonight (Jan. 31st, 2015) with 12 scheduled bouts, including a five-fight main card that will be live on Pay Per View at 10pm ET. Preliminary action will precede it on FOX Sports 1 at 8pm ET and UFC Fight Pass at 7pm ET. At the end of the night, UFC will award a $50,000 ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus to the two men who participated in the most entertaining bout of the evening. To place a wager on this prop, or any others for UFC 183, you may do so at Several Bookmakerss. I believe these UFC 183 ‘FOTN’ contenders hold the most value: Silva/Diaz +235 — This is the first “superfight” in recent UFC history, and as long as it is remotely entertaining, I think it will stand a good chance of taking home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ honors when it’s all said and done. These fighters have two of the biggest fan-base’s in all of mixed martial arts, so they will undoubtedly be on their feet cheering for this five round main event scrap. Not only is this a big main event during Super Bowl Weekend, but this fight also marks the long-awaited return of both Silva and Diaz. Should these two legends of the sport take home the bonus, it would mean the fourth time for Silva, and only the second for Diaz. As long as no other fight completely blows this one out of the water, this should be a safe play, and at the current betting price of +235, I think there is still some value to be had. Mein/Alves +500 — This is a scrap between two very talented strikers in the UFC’s welterweight division, and regardless of the outcome, I see it being a very entertaining contest. I am a fan of both of these fighters, so it will be tough to see one of them take in a loss, however when it’s all said and done, I think they will likely both walk away as winning, having displayed their skillsets and delivered a solid performance that likely earns them ‘Fight of the Night’ honors. I believe these two really could steal the show tonight, and with the spotlight on them starting things off for the UFC’s Super Bowl weekend Pay Per View card, I expect them to both deliver. In a whole-hearted effort to remain in the win column, I believe these 170-pound warriors will both leave it all inside the Octagon tonight. Should they in fact take home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus, it would be the second time for Mein, while being the third for Alves. At the current betting odds of +500, I think this one is worth a shot.
