MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas recently released the full preliminary card betting odds for UFC Fight Night 58 at Several Bookmakers. Here’s a betting preview of the evening’s six-fight preliminary card. Daniel Sarafian vs. Antonio dos Santos Jr. A middleweight bout between Daniel Sarafian and Antonio dos Santos Jr. was moved to the main card, but since I didn’t write about it yet I’ll give my quick thoughts here. Sarafian opened at -170 with dos Santos Jr. at +130, and the line hasn’t moved yet. I have to lean towards Sarafian because he has more experience against UFC-caliber fighters, but it’s hard to trust him given how he has looked as of late. That being said, dos Santos Jr. is taking this fight on very short notice so I can’t pick him, but I don’t think I can bet Sarafian. Marcos Rogerio de Lima vs. Igor Pokrajac A light heavyweight bout between Marcos Rogerio de Lima and Igor Pokrajac closes out the preliminary card. De Lima opened at -270 with Pokrajac at +190, and now de Lima is -350 with Pokrajac at +250. I have to go with de Lima in this one, a fight that I feel is a squash match. I think de Lima knocks Pokrajac out in the first minute of the fight, and I think he’s worth parlaying as a large favorite this weekend. Hacran Dias vs. Darren Elkins A featherweight bout between Hacran Dias and Darren Elkins takes place at this event. Elkins opened at -130 with Dias at -110, and now Dias is -190 with Ekins at +150. I liked Dias as an underdog but I feel like the line is a bit too high now. I still think Dias wins because I believe he can stop Elkins’ takedowns and be more effective in the striking department, but you never know with the judges. Yuta Sasaki vs. Leandro Issa A bantamweight matchup between Yuta Sasaki and Leandro Issa opens up the televised prelim card. Sasaki opened at -405 with Issa at +285 and now Sasaki is -420 with Issa at +300. Sasaki is a superior fighter and should absolutely steamroll Issa en route to a second UFC victory. The line is high, but it’s justified, as he’s one of the most likely winners on the entire card. Tim Means vs. Marcio Alexandre Jr. A welterweight bout between Tim Means and Marcio Alexandre Jr. is a part of the preliminary Fight Pass card. Means opened at -290 with Alexandre Jr. at +210, and now Means is -260 with Alexandre Jr. at +180. I like Means here, but this is a tricky fight. Means tends to fight down to his competition and if this fight is any sort of close, the judges in Brazil could give it to Alexandre Jr. I definitely will pick Means, but I’m a bit afraid about betting on him here for some reason, and will probably pass unless the line drops more. Jake Collier vs. Vitor Miranda The opening preliminary card bout on Fight Pass features TUF Brazil 3 heavyweight runner-up Vitor Miranda dropping down to middleweight to take on former RFA middleweight champion Jake Collier. Collier opened at -260, Miranda +180, and now Collier is +185 with the comeback on Miranda +145. I’ll pick Collier here but it’s hard to lay juice on an American prospect in their UFC debut in Brazil. Collier should be the better overall fighter and should win this fight on paper, but Miranda has some knockout power and could pull off the upset if he connects with a big strike. I’ll take Collier, but I can’t bet this fight.
