Invicta FC 10 Date: December 5, 2014 Arena: Arena Theatre City: Houston, TX Invicta Fighting Championship returns tonight with Invicta FC 10. The eight-fight card will be live on UFC Fight Pass beginning 9pm ET and will be headlined by a five round main event that sees Invicta FC 105 pound champion Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson defend her strap against Brazilian challenger Herica Tiburcio. If interested in betting on this fight card, the lines will be made available to you at Several Bookmakerss. My fights to AVOID betting for Invicta FC 10 are: Featherweight bout: Andria Wawro (-175) vs Peggy Morgan (+135) Gabe’s Thoughts: Morgan seems to generally be a good fade, especially at 145 pounds, but I think this is a match-up she has a decent chance at winning. With a .500 record of 2-2 after four professional fights, this is a do-or-die type of fight for Morgan, who does not want to have a losing record next to her name. I think this is going to be a close fight that likely goes the distance, and while I think Morgan has a decent shot at getting her hand raised, I don’t think there is enough value in her at the current betting line of +135 to warrant a play. On the same note, I definitely don’t think there is value in Wawro at -175 so I could justify a play there, either. To me, this is a “dog or pass” fight in which there is not enough value on the dog, so it ultimately has to be a pass. Gabe’s Call: Morgan by Split Decision (28-29, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID Flyweight bout: Evva Johnson (-160) vs Rachael Ostovich (+120) Gabe’s Thoughts: I think these women’s 125 pounders are going to compete in an incredibly entertaining, highly competitive scrap that will most likely see it’s way all the way to the judges’ scorecards for a decision, despite the fact that they will both be throwing heavy bombs and looking for the finish, both on the feet and on the mat. I believe these two have a great chance of producing the most entertaining bout of the entire evening, thus taking home ‘Fight of the Night’ honors for their efforts. Johnson only has one professional bout under her belt, while Ostovich has two. They are both very tough but I think Johnson is the more skilled fighter and I agree with the current betting lines, as they reflect that sentiment. I feel the betting odds for this flyweight contest are spot on, so I can’t justify a bet either way, as I see no value to support it. Gabe’s Call: Johnson by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) Gabe’s Recommended Play: AVOID
