Next weekend (December 6, 2014) looks to showcase several of Europe’s top talents as Polish promotion KSW (Konfrontacja Sztuk Walki) returns after a two month break for its 29th event. Headlining the main event, which will take place at Krakow Arena in Krakow, Poland, will be a featured middleweight attraction between top Polish middleweight veteran Mamed Khalidov (29-4-2) and former Bellator title challenger Brett Cooper (20-10). Khalidov is unbeaten in his last 10 bouts over a four year timespan and holds victories over the likes of Maiquel Falcao, Jesse Taylor, Melvin Manhoef, Kendall Grove and more during that span. The co-main event will be a highly intriguing battle for the KSW welterweight title as recently-crowned Polish champion Borys Mankowski (15-5-1) looks to defend against top German prospect David Zawada (9-1). Mankowski avenged his only loss from the last three years in his most recent bout, a second round triangle choke submission over Aslambek Saidov to claim the title. Zawada is untested under the KSW banner and the 24-year old will be looking to prove himself in his first title bout. Also on tap will be the always entertaining former World’s Strongest Man and Polish icon Mariusz Pudzianowski (7-3) as he battles former Pride veteran Pawel Nastula (5-5) in a super heavyweight contest. MMA oddsmaker Nick Kalikas opened the betting lines for KSW 29 today at Several Bookmakers.
