MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC 181 heavyweight Travis Browne as he prepares for his upcoming main card bout against Brendan Schaub this Saturday night (Dec. 6, 2014) at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The talented heavyweight switched up his camp to train under Edmond Tarverdyan after his tough loss to current interim champion Fabricio Werdum in his last bout and he explained why he made the change:
“From my fight with Werdum, I saw holes in my game. It’s very apparent. You can watch that fight and anyone can see ’em. I watched that fight and saw what I needed and I sought out a trainer that I feel could give me that. I watched the Countdown with Jake Ellenberger and watching how his legs were under him, the combinations he was throwing and listening to him speak and the philosophy of him understanding fighting was what drew me to him. I was weighing my options. I love coach Jackson and Winklejohn and wish nothing but the best for them, but this is the next evolution for me as an athlete and me as a fighter.”
