UFC Fight Night 57 Date: November 22, 2014 Arena: Frank Erwin Center City: Austin, TX The Ultimate Fighting Championship will be live from Austin, TX this Saturday night with UFC Fight Night 57. The event will feature a 12-fight card, including a six-fight main card that will be headlined by a featherweight tilt between Frankie Edgar and Cub Swanson. Main card action gets going at 10pm ET on FOX Sports 1, with the preliminary card preceding it on the same channel at 8pm ET, and two fights getting the night going on UFC Fight Pass at 7pm ET. To place a wager on this prop, or any others for UFC 172, you may do so at Several Bookmakerss. I believe these UFC Fight Night 57 FOTN contenders hold the most value: Swanson/Edgar +250 — This is a main event match-up between a pair of elite featherweights and it has all the makings of being an instant classic. As long as there is no quick finish, I think this fight will prove to be very entertaining and end up taking home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ honors. I normally don’t pick +250 lines for this article, as there almost always isn’t value there. However, this time around, I think this fight has a much greater chance at taking home the award than any other on the entire fight card, so even at these odds, I see enough value to warrant a play. The winner of this contest is going want a rematch with Jose Aldo next, and they are both going to look to win impressively. Should these two take home the bonus, it would mean the eight time for Edgar, while being the third for Swanson. Vallie-Flagg/Wiman +900 — I see a ton of value here, as I think that this is the match-up besides the main event that has the greatest chance of taking home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus. These lightweights are never involved in boring fights, and this is a perfect, tailor-made match-up. They are both fighters who leave it all inside the cage every time they step inside the Octagon. They are tough fighters who have a ton of heart and no quit in them. I believe this is going to be a very entertaining bout and a fight that was put together by Sean Shelby as a gift to the fans. There is a reason it was chosen to kick off the evening’s main card! At +900, it would be silly to pass up on this. Should these two take home the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ honors, it would mean the fifth time for Wiman, while being the second for Vallie-Flagg. Curran/VanZant +1300 — This is the promotional debut for both of these women’s strawweights and I believe they are both going to deliver. I am expecting this to be a closely contested fight that likely goes the three round distance for a judges’ decision, and I think those three rounds will be action packed. I feel like this is going to be the best 115-pound women’s fight to date, and at the current underdog price of +1300, I think there is a world of value and recommend it for a bet. If this fight proves to be as entertaining as I think it could be, then I think Dana White will give these ladies the evening’s ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus, as it would finally mean he made the right choice adding the new division to the UFC roster.
