At best, I think Maldonado may be able to win one round and get lucky and have the judges give him two in an unjust decision. I don’t see him winning a unanimous 30-27 nod, even if he wins the fight in robbery fashion. I feel like this is a very solid play and even at -245, there is a world of value in the +3.5 prop for the Dutchman. Featherweight bout: Darren Elkins (-180) vs Lucas Martins (+168) Elkins by Decision (+118) 1u to win 1.18u To put it simply, I think this is the most likely outcome to this 145-pound contest, and at the current underdog price of +118, I see enough value in it to make a move. Welterweight bout: Neil Magny (-215) vs William Macario (+195) Macario by T/KO (+427) 1 to win 4.27u Macario +3.5 (-175) 1.75u to win 1u I think there is a decent chance that Macario could knock Magny out, and at the current betting odds of +427, I think there is more than enough value to warrant a wager. I expect this fight to play out on the feet, though Magny may attempt to implement his wrestling, but I see Macario stuffing his attempts. I believe the Brazilian is the superior striker of the pair heading into this 170-pound scrap and I feel the is the one most capable of scoring a finish, as well as taking home the decision. In front of his native hometown Rio de Janeiro crowd, I believe he will in fact get his hand raised. Worst case scenario, I think he loses a split decision, at which point we will break even with the +3.5 coming through, as far as prop bets for this particular contest are concerned. Lightweight bout: Noayuki Kotani (+568) vs Yan Cabral (-700) Cabral ITD (-130) 1.3 to win 1u Simply put, I think Cabral will make quick work of Kotani, finishing him by either T/KO or even a submission, so I feel there’s enough value here at -130 to make a play. Flyweight bout: Scott Jorgensen (+165) vs Wilson Reis (-175) Reis by Submission (+354) 1 to win 3.54u Jorgensen’s submission defense is not one of his best attributes and I feel that is a hole in his game Reis will be able to take advantage of, ultimately sinking in some sort of choke to secure the tap for the victory in front of his fellow Brazilians, making him 2-0 at 125-pounds.
