My live dogs for Bellator 130 are: Heavyweight bout: Bobby Lashley (-1000) vs Karl Etherington (+650) Gabe’s Thoughts: Yeah, Lashley should win this fight much more often than not, and most often in the very first round of action, but I don’t believe he should be a -1000 betting favorite over Karl Winslow, much less Karl Etherington. The undefeated Brit will likely taste defeat for the first time in his professional mixed martial arts career, but I think the chances of him winning this fight are a bit better than the huge underdog price of +650 currently suggests, so I think it’s worth a small stab, especially considering the fact that this is a heavyweight fight and he packs power in his hands. Gabe’s Call: Lashley by KO (punch, 1:08 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Karl Etherington (+650) .2u to win 1.3u Lightweight bout: Davi Ramos (+165) vs David Rickels (-205) Gabe’s Thoughts: Rickels will have the edge on the feet, but as soon as the fight hits the mat, which I think it will, it will be in Ramos’ world. He is a talented submission artist and I feel he will be able to secure a submission victory over Rickels, whether he is in top position or fighting off of his back. Over the course of 15 minutes, I think there is a decent chance he finds the finish. Rickels is a big 155-pounder who packs a lot of power, but I don’t think he will finish Ramos. I won’t be surprised if he does, but I think his best chance at winning this fight is by keeping the fight on the feet and being technical. I don’t think the chances of that happening are too great, as I think Ramos will eventually find a way to get to the mat, perhaps when Rickels gets over-confident on the feet. I am picking Ramos to win this fight, and at the current underdog price of +165, I feel he is the right side for a bet, as I personally think he should be slightly favored at -140 heading into this lightweight contest. Should this scrap hit the judges’ scorecards for a decision, I slightly favor Rickels to take the nod, but think it could go either way.
