MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Maximum Fighting Championship lightweight Andrew McInnes as he prepares for his upcoming main card bout against Ryan Healy this Friday (October 3, 2014) at the Shaw Conference Center in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
The talented Canadian submission artist is now facing his third announced opponent after both Jacob Volkmann and Alvin Robinson pulled out, and it’s been difficult to properly train for each change:
“Volkmann, he’d try to take me to the ground. He has absolutely no striking. I believe I’d light him up on the feet. I believe I’d light him up on the ground. It would be mostly his decision where I beat him. Robinson would most likely go for the takedown and I believe I’m a much better ground guy than he is. I would have beat him and let’s be honest, he doesn’t have the biggest heart on Earth and you’ve seen him melt several times when the heat gets hot. I go from Robinson who’d I’d been focusing on for the most part, completely heartless, to Ryan Healy, who has exactly the same build as me and the biggest heart in the game essentially. Completely unbreakable, I believe.”
