MMAOddsBreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 126 bantamweight Ed West as he prepares for his upcoming main card bout against Mike Richman this Friday night (September 26th, 2014) at the Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.
The veteran has been on the verge multiple times of fighting for or winning the Bellator bantamweight title, and he expects a very stern test against Mike Richman, who’s dropping down a weight class for the first time:
“There’s really nothing bad to say about Mike Richman. Mike Richman’s a stud and he’s fought real quality guys at least while he’s been in Bellator. All the caliber of copetition he’s fought in Bellator has been pretty good though and as such, there’s nothing bad to say about the guy. He comes forward, he throws punches and he either finishes the fight or he goes the distance. All his fights that have gone to decision in Bellator have been pretty close other than Frodo Khasbulaev. They were very competitive. I expect my fight with him to be competitive as well. The guy takes a good shot, he’s hard to take down, he’s tough to submit and he likes to come forward. I’m expecting a good, tough fight with the guy.”
