UFC Fight Night 52 was live from the Saitama Super Arena from Saitama, Japan this past Saturday (Sept. 20, 2014) with 12 scheduled bouts, which were all live on UFC Fight Pass; and with the solid night of scraps now behind us, let’s take a look at which UFC Fight Night 52 fighters we may no longer see compete inside the Octagon… ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK: Takenori Sato Sato suffered his second consecutive first round TKO defeat at UFC Fight Night 52. This time it came at the hands of Korean welterweight Hyun Gyu Lim. He lost his first Octagon bout in similar fashion to Erick Silva back in February, which goes to show that he was thrown to the wolves from the get-go, as he has been a massive underdog heading into both contests. He did not exactly get a fair shake, but the UFC isn’t in the fair business. I would not be surprised to see the Japanese veteran get another crack at picking up a first UFC win, but I think after very quick back to back first round finishes, we will not be seeing him inside the Octagon again. Kazuki Tokudome After starting his UFC career off on a high note with a unanimous decision victory over Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace Cristiano Marcello, Tokudome has now dropped three in a row to Norman Parke, Yul Chui Nam and Johnny Chase, respectively. The Chase loss came at UFC Fight Night 52 in Tokudome’s home country of Japan, and it marked the first time the Japanese veteran has been finished inside the Octagon. Now on a three-fight skid, I don’t see Tokudome getting another shot, so I expect he will be receiving his pink slip shortly.
