ONE FC will be able to scratch another Asian country off the bucket list this Friday, as the promotion holds their first card in Cambodia. ONE FC 20 goes live at 7:00 am ET on iPPV in the US (or a variety of local stations around the world), with a nine-fight card that includes the crowning of the inaugural organizational flyweight champion. Adriano Moraes (11-1) takes on Geje Eustaquio (6-2) in the flyweight title bout. Each was almost forced down a weight class after losing a decision to a bigger grappler early in their ONE FC careers, as Moraes dropped a split decision to Yusup Saadualaev and Estaquio fell to Andrew Leone. Both men have found renewed success, winning their past two fights since dropping to the 125lb division. Moraes – coming from the same Constrictor Team in Brazil that houses grappling whiz Rani Yahya – is deadly on the ground, picking up five total submission victories, including his last two bouts. Eustaquio would certainly prefer to keep this on the feet so that he can put his solid striking skills to work against the still developing hands of Moraes. The co-main event on this card was supposed to be a rematch between Caros Fodor (9-4) and Vuyisile Colossa, but a knee injury to the South African forced him out of the proposed fight. In his place steps longtime veteran Vincent Latoel (15-14-2). Following a four-year hiatus from the sport, Latoel has arguably shown the best form of his career in ONE FC, going 2-1 with a pair of first round stoppages. Fodor has also gone 2-1 in ONE FC since coming over from the UFC, and was looking forward to the opportunity to avenge his loss to Colossa. Hopefully for Fodor’s sake he isn’t too let down by the change in opponent, as overlooking Latoel could add an unexpected loss to his record which would be detrimental to working up towards a title shot in the lightweight division. Beyond those two fights, the experience level at ONE FC drops quickly. Arnaud Lepont (10-4, 1-3 ONE FC) takes on promotional newcomer Suasday Chau (4-3) in a lightweight bout. Lepont has dropped his past three bouts in the organization, all by stoppage, while all of Chau’s victories have come by submission. Combined, these men have never seen a decision in their MMA careers, so while this bout doesn’t have much in terms of divisional relevance it does project to be fun. ONE FC veterans Radeeh Rahman (2-0) and Ming Yen Sung (3-1) square off in the bantamweight division, as Rahman’s striking prowess goes up against Sung’s grappling game. Rahman comes out of Evolve MMA and is one to watch, as both of his pro bouts have come in the ONE FC cage, and he’s earned TKO victories each time. A teammate of Rahman’s at Evolve MMA, Amir Khan (0-0) makes his pro debut and looks to translate his striking against Jian Kai Chee (4-4). Chee comes from a Muay Thai background, and has gone 1-1 in ONE FC thus far. One would think the organization is giving a favorable matchup to the 20-year-old Khan, but until he steps up to the pro level it’s hard to know how he’ll look.
