The TUF Brazil 3 Finale took place tonight from Sao Paulo, Brazil, and the card overall was solid as it featured a number of cool finishes, although the main event was a bit of a letdown as it didn’t even last a minute. Overall, 10 favorites won while two underdogs cashed. Here’s a betting recap for the TUF Brazil 3 Finale based on the closing results at Several Bookmakers. Favorites That Won In the main event of the evening, Stipe Miocic defeated Fabio Maldonado via first-round TKO (punches). Miocic landed a hard right hand that dropped Maldonado and he finished him off with strikes for the knockout just 35 seconds into the bout. Miocic easily cashed as a -660 favorite (bet $660 to win $100), while Maldonado lost as a +540 underdog (bet $100 to win $540). In the finals of the TUF Brazil 3 heavyweight tournament, Antonio Carlos Junior defeated Vitor Miranda via unanimous decision (30-27 x 2, 29-28). Junior was the better striker and wrestler and definitely deserved to get his hand raised. Junior was a -200 favorite while Miranda was a +185 dog. In the finals of the TUF Brazil 3 middleweight tournament, Warlley Alves defeated Marcio Alexandre Junior via third-round technical submission (guillotine choke). This was an amazing performance by Alves and he could be a big star for the UFC. Alves was -200 while Junior was +185. In a welterweight bout, Demian Maia defeated Alexander Yakovlev via unanimous decision (30-27 x 3). Maia’s grappling was once again excellent but his opponent was able to defend enough to at least go to decision. Maia closed at -455 and Yakovlev closed at +405. In a lightweight bout, Rashid Magomedov defeated Rodrigo Damm via unanimous decision (30-27 x 3). Magomedov’s striking was superior and he clearly deserved to get the nod on the judges’ cards. Magomedov was a -320 favorite while Damm was a +290 dog. In a lightweight bout, Elias Silverio defeated Ernest Chavez via third-round submission (rear-naked choke). Chavez was game, but Silverio was just too skilled and was well on his way to a decision win before getting the submission win with a minute left. Silverio cashed at -500 while Chavez lost at +435. In a featherweight bout, Kevin Souza defeated Mark Eddiva via second-round TKO (punches). Souza’s long punches were too much for Eddiva to handle and he was able to earn a stoppage late in the second stanza. Souza cashed at -325 while Eddiva lost at +295. In a middleweight bout, Ricardo Abreu defeated Wagner Silva via second-round submission (rear-naked choke). Abreu looked great in this fight and seems like he could be a darkhorse at 185lbs. Abreu closed at -320 and Silva closed at +290. In a heavyweight bout, Marcos Rogerio De Lima defeated Richardson Moreira via first-round TKO (punches). De Lima landed a quick punch that put his opponent down and he finished him off with strikes for the TKO win. De Lima was -150 while Moreira was +140. In a bantamweight bout, Pedro Munhoz defeated Matt Hobar via first-round TKO (punches). Munhoz dominated the fight from the opening bell and he looks like a real legit prospect at 135lbs. Munhoz was -295 while Hobar was +265. Underdogs That Won In a featherweight bout, Robbie Peralta defeated Rony Jason via split decision (29-28, 27-30, 30-27). This was a competitive striking battle, but Peralta did enough to sway the judges on the cards and earn the decision victory. Peralta was a +290 underdog while Jason was a -320 favorite. In a welterweight bout, Gasan Umalatov defeated Paulo Thiago via unanimous decision (30-27 x 2, 29-28). Umalatov defended Thiago’s takedown attempts and did enough on the feet to get the win. Umalatov cashed as a +165 dog while Thiago lost as a -175 favorite.
