The plays for this prize I see value in are: Cerrone/Barboza +400 — I have to start by saying that from top to bottom, this lightweight scrap is the fight I am most looking forward to on the 13-fight card. I think these are two of the most exciting strikers in the 155 pound division, and two of my favorites to watch. This is a match-up I had been hoping would get made, and now it’s finally here. Tonight!! Regardless of how long it lasts, I have no doubt this fight will be all fireworks. I could see it lasting just one minute, and I could also see it going all 15. Cerrone already owns one ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus in his UFC tenure, though he picked up three during his time with the WEC. Barboza is no stranger to picking up the bonus himself, owning four ‘Fight of the Night’ awards in just eight fights. He is batting .500 for the bonus, and more importantly, has never been in a boring fight. The same could very well be said for Cerrone, who win or lose, has never been part of a dull fight. This bout is my personal main event, and I feel like a giddy kid just thinking about it. At +400, this is a hard one to pass up. Nurmagomedov/dos Anjos +525 — This lightweight contest will headline the FOX Sports 1 preliminary portion of the UFC on FOX 11 fight card. Both of these 155 pounders are very talented on the mat, and fight to fight, have been showing constant improving in the striking department. Both of these guys are tough, so even if one of them is clearly in control of the fight, I think the other will also have his moments. Whether this is a close fight or not, I am expecting it to be a very fun one. It is another lightweight scrap I have very much been looking forward to, and at +525, I think it is certainly worth a look. However, if you are eyeing this fight for your bet, I would not recommend more than a small amount, considering that dos Anjos has only ever won the ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus just once, while Nurmagomedov has never had the honor. This is a very important fight for both 155 pounders, so I am expecting them to be prepared to go to war in what is to date the biggest fight of their careers. Whoever gets his hand raised will be one step closer to getting a title shot, as I believe they are on the two best winning streaks in the division. White/Payan +1500 — This is my dark harse to take home the bonus. Payan is coming off back to back losses and has his back against the wall going into this bout. White is taking this fight on short notice, replacing an injured Mike Brown, who himself was an injury replacement for Sean Soriano. White is a well-rounded mixed martial artist who is undefeated in the sport. Both fighters have a lot of heart, and considering Payan’s job is on the line and it’s White’s UFC debut, I believe they will both leave it all in the cage. At +1500, I have to say that this longshot is worth a stab. Regardless of how long it lasts, I think more often than not, these pair of featherweights will produce an exciting scrap, as they generally have fan friendly styles. Though, it is worth noting that with Payan’s job on the line, there is a chance that he may be conservative and opt to grind this one out. Even if that is his gameplan, it isn’t a given that White will make it easy on him. He is tough, talented both on the feet and on the mat, so if taken down, he will be active off his back. This will be a win that Payan would likely have to work for, as I don’t believe White will be giving up his 0 so easily.
