MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with recently retired UFC heavyweight Pat Barry as he prepares for the next stage of his professional combat sports career: kickboxing.
The popular personality entered MMA from a kickboxing background and admits that the desire to compete in his original sport never left him despite his lengthy run in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
“I’ve been having the feeling, the desire. The desire to kickbox never went away, ever. It was something that was available. All of a sudden, there’s an outlet for kickboxing. It’s not just flying down to Taipei, Taiwan on a Thursday night and fighting someone in a bar somewhere with 200 people. It wasn’t like having to do that twice a week. Now there’s an outlet where you can become a world champion and make a living.”
