NIKITA “AL CAPONE” KRYLOV (15-3 MMA, 0-1 UFC) made his promotional debut nearly five months ago against Soa Palelei and lost via TKO in the third round of action, simply because he was completely gassed and had absolutely nothing more left to offer. Krylov is a talented submission artist and his resume reflects it, as 10 of his 15 career victories have come by way of tapout. While he has a solid offensive submission game, his defensive grappling could use a lot of work. His submission defense certainly is not poor, but it clearly is not great. Krylov works decent kicks and he likes to push forward. He has solid takedowns and good top control, not to mention excellent transitions. Krylov is known mainly for his submission game, but he began his martial arts career with Karate and was initially a pure striker. After learning all the different aspects of mixed martial arts and developing a solid all-around game, including his aforementioned submission game, he went on a tear on the European regional circuit and made enough noise to earn himself a call from Joe Silva. However, his promotional debut proved he perhaps is not UFC-caliber, mainly because of his atrocious cardio. While Harris does not have great cardio himself, he will still hold an advantage in that department against The Ukrainian. WALT “THE BIG TICKET” HARRIS (6-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) had his five fight winning streak snapped by Jared Rosholt in a controversial decision loss nearly two months ago. He now looks to make a quick turnaround and get back on the win column. All six of Harris’ professional mixed martial arts victories have been by way of knockout in the first round of action. He is a talented, brutal striker who always looks for the finish. His takedown defense is average, but when taken down, he is generally good at working his way back to his feet. Harris has poor cardio, but it is not as poor as his opponent’s gas tank this fight. He will enter this bout with advantages in power and striking, and as long as he keeps it on the feet, I think he could score an early finish, adding one more to his padded first round resume. Fight Prediction: Simply put, I think Harris ends this early on the feet with strikes.
