UFC Fight Night 34 Date: January 4, 2013 Arena: Marina Bay sands City: Marina Bay, Singapore. UFC Fight Night 34 will be live from Singapore for the first time in the promotions history. The event will be broadcasted live via UFC Fight Pass, the promotions’ new online digital network. The preliminary card will be live at 6:30 am ET, and the main card will kick off at 9 am ET. If interested in wagering on these fights, these and all lines will be made available to you at Several Bookmakerss. Here are my picks for three preliminary match-ups, as well as a recommended parlay including them. Bantamweight bout: Dustin Kimura (-265) vs Jon Delos Reyes (+245) Fight Prediction: JDR is making his promotional debut on a four fight win streak, all four wins coming inside the distance. Kimura is coming off the first loss of his professional mixed martial arts career, where he was rocked on the feet, and then submitted on the mat by the Canadian Mitch Gagnon. The tough Hawaiian refused to tap, and went to sleep, waking up to a no-longer undefeated record. He now looks to get back on the winning track against Reyes, and I expect he will, as he is the more skilled fighter. I think Kimura will get his takedowns and dominate the fight on the mat, likely securing a submission victory. Gabe’s Pick: Dustin Kimura by Submission (rear naked choke, 4:23 round 2) Lightweight bout: Katsunori Kikuno (-170) vs Quinn Mulhern (+160) Fight Prediction: This is Kikuno’s Octagon debut, and he is riding a five fight win streak. Four of the last five came by way of finish in the very first round of action. This is Mulhern’s second UFC bout and first time fighting at 155 pounds. Judging by the weigh-ins, he looks to have a significant size advantage over Kikuno. I think that will benefit the Strikeforce veteran, as I see him scoring takedowns and taking the fight on the judges’ scorecards. Gabe’s Pick: Quinn Mulhern by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27) Bantamweight bout: David Galera (-170) vs Royston Wee (+160) Fight Prediction: Promotion debut between two bantamweight submission specialists. I am expecting an early submission finish in this one. Gabe’s Pick: Royston Wee (flying triangle choke, 0:23 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended PARLAY: Dustin Kimura (-265), Not Kikuno inside distance (-230), and Wee/Galera won’t go distance (-185) for +204 2.5u to win 5.11u Other Plays: Dustin Kimura Inside the Distance (-120) .6u to win .5u, Quinn Mulhern by Decision (+425) 1u to win 4.25u, Galera/Wee under 1.5 rounds (+135) 2u to win 2.7u
