UFC 168 ‘Fight of the Night’ Betting Props UFC 168 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, N.V. has a fight card with 11 scheduled bouts, including a five-fight main card that is sure to produce fireworks, as it is arguably the most anticipated MMA event of the year. After the fights have concluded, the UFC will be awarding a $50,000 ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus for the most exciting bout of the evening. I believe the top condenders for this prize are: Silva/Weidman +250 — This fight did not win the award the first time around, but I just have a gut feeling that as long as there’s no early finish, it has a good chance of cashing. I think it is worth a bet at +150 or better. Out of all the fights on the entire card, I think this this one has the chance of producing the most fireworks. Silva already owns three ‘Fight of the Night’ bonuses, while Weidman owns none. Tate/Rousey +600 — This has a good chance of cashing as long as it goes lasts over one round. If Tate can put up a fight for at least a round and a half, then I could see Dana White awarding these ladies with the bonus. Tate earned a ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus in her last outing against Cat Zingano, which was also her UFC debut. Rousey has also had only one fight inside the Octagon, though her performance did not earn her the ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus. Poirier/Brandao +400 — This is a battle between a pair of featherweights who generally produce very exciting fights. I was already expecting this to be a fun fight, but after the incident at the weigh-ins, it became a little more personal for the fighters, so I think that will add to the excitement value of the bout. Brandao missed weight by eight pounds initially, which made Poirier really upset, causing him to hurl some heated words towards the Brazilian. These are two fighters who like to move forward and look for the finish, I think this will be an edge-of-your-seat fight for however long it lasts. Poirier and Brandao each own one ‘Fight of the Night’ bonus, though it is worth noting that Dustin Poirier vs Erik Koch deserved the bonus at UFC 164, but was headscratchingly awarded to the one-sided one-round beatddown that was Pascal Krauss vs Hyun Gyu Lim. Gabe’s FOTN Play: I believe this card really has just these three options for cashing the award. I think Estevan Payan vs Robbie Peralta on the Facebook prelims has a great chance of being a very exciting fight, but I just think something on the main card will steal this show, and my gut has been telling me Silva vs Weidman all week long, so my only play is going to be 2u to win 5u on that prop, and would recommend playing it at +150 or better.
