MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with UFC Fight Night 31 middleweight Chris Camozzi as he prepares for his preliminary card bout on Wednesday night (Nov. 6, 2013) against Lorenz Larkin at Fort Campbell in Fort Campbell, Kentucky.
The scrappy 185-pounder is stepping into the cage against a highly accomplished and diverse striker, but he feels he’ll more than be able to hold his own against Larkin if the fight stays standing.
“I’m surprised we ended up on the Facebook portion of the card because I know he likes to get in people’s face and I’m the same way. We put on exciting fights. He’s explosive, he’s quick. I should have quite a bit of reach on him. I’m quite a bit bigger than him and I think that’ll play into it. He’s an exciting fighter and I enjoy watching his fights so I was glad they offered him to me as an opponent. I don’t get enough credit for my striking. I don’t knock guys out all over the place, but watch my fights. My opponents’ faces are usually busted up. I don’t land those big Johny Hendricks KOs or anything but I’m effective. Broken orbitals and broken noses against my opponents.”
