In a featured lightweight bout, Bobby “King” Green takes on “The” James Krause in what should be an action-packed affair. Both of these fighters are coming off of impressive victories over UFC vets Jacob Volkmann and Sam Stout, respectively, so the UFC matched them up to see who is the better man and who will move up the ladder. Green opened as the slight favorite, and it’s understandable due to his wrestling advantage in the fight and the fact Stout took Krause down at will in their matchup, but I believe Krause has more ways to win and I am eyeing him as a dog at even money for a small play. In a bantamweight bout, Francisco Rivera takes on George Roop. I love this fight and I agree completely with where the line opened as it’s essentially a Pick ’em in my mind with a slight edge due to Rivera, who has a slightly better chin. However, Roop is a guy who has been fighting in the UFC against top competition for a long time and and he’s looked great since dropping down to bantamweight, so, if anything, I’m leaning towards the TUF vet to come thru as the dog. In a middleweight bout, Lorenz Larkin takes on Chris Camozzi. Although Larkin may look overpriced at first glance, I believe the line is accurate here, and I think he will be good parlay fodder as I see him outstriking Camozzi en route to decision. If anything, I will also look at the O2.5 rounds total. And finally, in a lightweight bout, Yancy Medeiros takes on Yves Edwards. Although many don’t know who Medeiros is, he is a very promising lightweight prospect and I understand the line being where it is as I expect him to win this fight. Obviously, though Edwards is a wily vet and has more experience, so you can never count him out, but I do lean towards the Hawaiian Medeiros here for the pick.
