MMA Oddsbreaker’s Frank Trigg speaks with Bellator 106 light heavyweight Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal as he prepares for his interim title fight tonight (Nov. 2, 2013) against Emanuel Newton at The Convention and Entertainment Center in Long Beach, California.
The former standout Oklahoma State wrestler was knocked out by Newton in their initial meeting, but he expects things to be considerably different in this five-round rematch:
“After he beat me, he was saying I was all cocky and talking trash and I was saying nothing about him. Let’s be real. When you knock somebody out, do you go for a submission after you knock them out or do you walk away? He threw it and it landed and to me, it was lucky because he threw it and threw it hard but he didn’t know what happened. It wasn’t like he was going ‘I’m gonna set him up with this and throw the spinning back fist.’ He just threw something hard at me and it connected.”
