UFC Fight Night 32 Date: November 9, 2013 Arena: Goiania Arena City: Goiania, Brazil The UFC Fight Night 32 main card will be live on FOX Sports 1 starting at 8 p.m. ET. You can bet on these and all fights at Several Bookmakerss. Here are my plays for some of the main card fights: Light Heavyweight bout: Vitor Belfort (-225) vs Dan Henderson (+205) Fight Prediction: This is a rematch between two veterans of the sport who came into the UFC via Pride. I think, as most do, that Hendo landing a knockout is his only shot at winning this fight. I see Belfort being too fast for him and outstriking him. He may not find a finish, but he will get his hand raised. Gabe’s Pick: Vitor Belfort by Unanimous Decision (50-45, 50-45, 50-45) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Vitor Belfort (-225) and Belfort by Unanimous Decision (+345), both big. – I hit Belfort by Dec +400 and Belfort by UD +520, and both lines have severely dropped, in a matter of hours. Middleweight bout: Cezar Ferreira (-170) vs Daniel Sarafian (+150) Fight Prediction: This is the TUF: Brazil season one final that should have taken place, but did not due to a Sarafian injury. Ferreira has the size advantage heading into this bout, as he could be a light heavyweight and Sarafian could and very well should be a welterweight. That said, I think the smaller fighter in Sarafian will manage to get the better of Ferreira. He will be at a cardio disadvantage against Mutante, but I do give him the better chance of finishing the fight. Gabe’s Pick: Daniel Sarafian by TKO (3:23, round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Daniel Sarafian (+150) for a moderate play. If this was before the CB Dollaway fight, I would have recommended a big play here, but that performance made his stock drop, in my opinion. I think he should have gotten the decision, but regardless, he should have dominated or finished CB. Light Heavyweight bout: Rafael Cavalcante (-295) vs Igor Pokrajac (+265) Fight Prediction: Cavalcante looked impressive in his fight against Thiago Silva, until he gassed and was stopped by Silva. For that reason, I was not planning on making a play on him in this bout, but after seeing him step on the scale at the weigh ins today in the best shape I’ve ever seen him in, I can’t help but to make a play on him, especially against Pokrajac, who has become an auto-fade in my book, even though he cashed famously for me once as a big play against another auto-fade fighter in Fabio Maldonado. Cavalcante should be able to get the better of Pokrajac in this fight, and while Pokrajac is incredibly durable, I could see Feijao getting the stoppage here. Gabe’s Pick: Rafael Cavalcante by TKO (strikes, 3:44 round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Rafael Cavalcante (–295) for a small to moderate play. Welterweight bout: Brandon Thatch (-330) vs Paulo Thiago (+270) Fight Prediction:I think this fight is going to play out the way most fans expect it to; with Thatch getting the better of Thiago on the feet en route to a T/KO. Gabe’s Pick: Brandon Thatch by KO (0:44, round 1) Gabe’s Recommended Play: Brandon Thatch (-330) for a big play, Thatch wins in Round 1 (+150) for a moderate play, and Thatch wins by T/KO (-135) for another moderate play. Featherweight bout: Rony Jason (-205) vs Jeremy Stephens (+188) Fight Prediction:Jason is the superior mixed martial artist, all around but Stephens is tough as hell, and also skilled in all areas. I think whoever initiates the wrestling and finds success with it will end up getting his hand raised. Jason, while, the superior and more technically sound striker, needs to use his first love: jiu-jits. I think he needs to apply an offensive grappling game and look for submissions, as it would be his best route to victory. Gabe’s Pick: Rony Jason by Split-Decision (29-28, 28-29, 30-27) Gabe’s Recommended Plays: Rony Jason (-205) for 5u, Jason by Dec (+250) for 3u, and Over 1.5 rounds (-160) for 4u.
