Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Vegas 92 Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Vegas 92 is a five-round featherweight fight between Edson Barboza and Lerone Murphy. Barboza is coming off two straight wins over Sodiq Yusuff and Billy Quarantillo where he was counted out by many, but ended up pulling off the upset in both fights. He now takes on Murphy, who is undefeated in the UFC with a 5-0-1 record. Barboza has far more experience in the UFC, but he is 38 years of age and theoretically, he should be on a decline. That being said, he has still been looking great as of late. Then again, Murphy is a stud himself at age 32 and continues to do well in the Octagon. This is a fight that is closer at the sportsbooks, with the oddsmakers opening up Murphy as only a small betting favorite.
- The co-main event of UFC Vegas 92 features Carlston Harris and Khaos Williams. Harris is 4-1 overall in the UFC and he has won his last two fights in a row, including a tremendous submission win over Jeremiah Wells in his last fight. As for Williams, he is 5-2 in the UFC. This is another close fight, although the oddsmakers opened up Harris as a small favorite.
