Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Dana White’s Contender Series 59:
- At middleweight, we have Eli Aronov taking on Zach Reese. Aronov is unbeaten with a perfect 6-0 record, including four finishes. His last win came over Mariusz Ksiazkiewicz, who previously fought on DWCS. As for Reese, he is a perfect 5-0 with all of his wins coming in the first round by stoppage. Both of these guys are very dangerous, especially early on in the fight, but the fact that Reese has not been the distance in his career is somewhat concerning. Aronov has more big-fight experience, including fighting for Bellator, and he should likely be a bit of a bigger favorite in this matchup just given the higher level of opposition in his career.
- Also on the card, we have a welterweight bout between Oban Elliot and Kaik Brito. Elliot is a Cage Warriors FC veteran who has won his last four fights heading into this bout. As for Brito, he has won his last two fights while competing for the OKTAGON promotion. Again, this should be another really good fight, just likely most of the bouts on DWCS have been this year. Elliot has been fighting a slightly higher level of competition in CWFC so that is why he is the slight favorite in this fight, but of course you can’t count out Brito from getting the win here.
