Here are my quick thoughts on the UFC Las Vegas Opening Odds:
- The main event of UFC Las Vegas sees two of the best bantamweights in the world face off when Petr Yan takes on Merab Dvalishvili. Yan has actually lost his last two fights in a row to Sean O’Malley and Aljamain Sterling, but both losses came by razor-thin margins and he remains one of the bantamweight division’s top talents. As for Dvalishvili, he is riding an eight-fight win streak right now and is one of the division’s hottest fighters. This should be a very interesting fight to watch play out in the cage, but Yan opened up as the betting favorite for it.
- In the co-main event, heavyweights Alexandr Romanov and Alexander Volkov go at each other. Romanov is coming off his first career loss, a majority decision defeat to Marcin Tybura, while Volkov knocked out Jairzinho Rozenstruik the last time we saw him. Overall, it should be an intriguing fight to watch play out, one where Romanov opened up as the betting favorite.
