Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds For Bellator 292:
- The main event of Bellator 292 sees Bellator lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov take on Benson Henderson as part of the opening round of the 155lbs Grand Prix. Nurmagomedov is undefeated at 16-0 and he captured the belt in his last fight when he won a lopsided decision over Patricky Pitbull. As for Henderson, he is the former UFC lightweight champion and he has won his last two fights in the Bellator cage. Although Henderson has performed well as of late, Nurmagomedov is one of the best young prospects in the sport. It should come as absolutely no surprise to anyone that Nurmagomedov is a huge favorite.
- In the co-main event, Alexander Shabliy takes on Tofiq Musayev in another lightweight bout. Shabliy has won his last seven fights in a row and he has a perfect 2-0 record in Bellator so far. As for Musayev, he is coming off a huge knockout win over Sidney Outlaw in his last fight. Both of these fighters are very good, but only one can be favored, and the oddsmakers are siding with Shabliy to get his hand raised. That being said, Musayev is a very live dog.
