Here are my quick thoughts on the PFL 2022: Week 6:
- This week’s PFL card features the women’s lightweights and the welterweights. At lightweight, we have a great fight between the two-time PFL women’s lightweight champion Kayla Harrison and late notice replacement Kaitlin Young, who is filling in for Julia Budd. Harrison is a perfect 13-0 in her MMA career and she has looked pretty much completely unstoppable throughout her MMA career without facing much adversity. For Young, she is a longtime veteran of the sport and she has more experience than Harrison. However, Young is getting up there in age and she lost her last fight to Budd. Overall, Harrison is much more in her prime than Young currently is, and she once again enters a PFL fight as a huge favorite at the betting window.
- Also on the card are the welterweights, and one of the marquee fights features Rory MacDonald against Sadibou Sy. MacDonald has been disappointing so far in PFL with a 2-2 overall record in the promotion, but he is coming off of a great win over Brett Cooper. As for Sy, he is coming off of an upset win over Nikolay Aleksakhin in his last fight. Overall this should be a fairly competitive fight, but in the end, you have to favor MacDonald to get his hand raised.
