Here are my initial thoughts on the Opening Odds for LFA 124:
- The main event of LFA 124 is a three-round flyweight bout between Jussier Formiga and Felipe Bunes. Formiga is one of the best flyweights ever, and one of the very best who never fought for the UFC title. During his time in the Octagon, Formiga beat some of the best fighters in the division including Deiveson Figueiredo, Sergio Pettis, and Wilson Reis, among others. He is one of the best grapplers to ever fight at 125lbs and his wrestling skills are how he picked up that monster win over Figueiredo two years ago. As for Bunes, he is an ACA veteran who is coming off of a submission win that snapped a three-fight losing skid. He has some good finishing skills, but Formiga is a hard guy to finish. Overall, this looks like Formiga’s fight all the way, and it’s no surprise that he is a sizeable favorite to get the victory here.
- The co-main event is another flyweight bout between Clayton Carpenter and Windson Ramos. The 25-year-old Carpenter is 5-0 as a pro including a perfect 3-0 in LFA with two straight finishes. As for Ramos, he is 4-1 and coming off of a win in King of the Cage. Carpenter is one of the best flyweight prospects out there, so it makes sense he is heavily favored to win.
