UFC Vegas 45 Closing Odds and Fight Results

UFC Vegas took place Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card was headlined by a heavyweight bout between Derrick Lewis and Chris Daukaus.

Favorites that Won

Angela Hill gave her best effort, and many thought she should have won the fight, but Amanda Lemos came on strong in the third round and was able to eke out a controversial split decision victory. Lemos was -280 while Hill was +235

Ricky Simon connected with some nasty punches to floor veteran Raphael Assuncao in the second round for a knockout victory. Simon was a -330 favorite while Assuncao was +275

Diego Ferreira held his own early, but Martusz Gamrot landed a vicious knee to the body from behind and put an end to their fight via second round TKO after Ferreira bowed out. Gamrot was -260 favorite while Ferrira was +220

Cub Swanson blasted Darren Elkins with everything but the kitchen sink in the first round, then put him away with spinning wheel kick to earn a first round TKO. Swanson was a -165 while Elkins was +145.

Dustin Stoitzfus started strong, but got caught in a rear naked choke to succumb to a submission by Gerald Meerschaert in the third round. Meerschaert was -235 while Stoitzfus was +200

In a fight many didn’t expect to last long, Justin Tafa blasted Harry Hunsucker with a head kick to earn a first round TKO victory. Tafa was -285 while Hunsucker was +240

Charles Jourdain earned a one-sided unanimous decision victory over Andre Ewell. Jourdain was -220 while Ewell was +190

Raquel Pennington latched onto a slick guillotine choke in the second round, forcing Macy Chiasson to tap out. Pennington was -140 while Chiasson was +120

Don’Tale Mayes utilized some unorthodox ground and pound, eventually wearing Josh Parisian down with elbows on the canvas in the third round. Mayes was -170 was while Parisian was +150

In the opening bout of the evening, Jordan Leavitt latched onto an inverted triangle against Matt Sayles and forced a second round submission. Leavitt was -144 while Sayles was +124

 

Underdogs that Won

In the main event of the evening, Derrick Lewis took the fight to Chris Daukaus, landing heavy blows against the fence, Daukaus absorbed them early, but couldn’t for long as Lewis eventually knocked him out cold with a brutal flurry of haymakers in the first round. Lewis was +125 while Daukaus was -145

In the co-main event of the evening, Belal Muhammad utilized his sneaky good wrestling attack to keep Stephen Thompson off balance, repeatedly putting Thompson on the ground en route to a one-sided unanimous decision victory. Muhammad was +190 while Thompson was -220

Melissa Gato outstruck Sijara Eubanks, eventually stopping Eubanks with a nasty front body kick in the second round. Gato was +140 while Eubanks was -160
