UFC on ESPN 12 took place Saturday, June 27, 2020 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card was headlined by an lightweight bout between Dustin Poitier and Dan Hooker.

Favorites that Won
In the main event, Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker put on an instant classic. Neither man backed down and both landed huge shots over the course of a five round war, although the judges sided with Poirier via unanimous decision when it was all said and done. Poirier was the favorite at -215 while Hooker was +185
Mike Perry may have had his girlfriend in his corner, but that’s all he needed to earn a decision against Mickey Gall, who was outmatched on the feet and wasn’t able to latch onto anything on the ground. Perry was a -305 favorite while Gall was +255
Fans were skeptical of Gian Villante when he showed up to the weigh-ins having gained weight for his UFC heavyweight debut in all the wrong places, but he seemed prime for an upset of Maurice Greene until he was submitted out of nowhere late in the third round. Greene closed -280 while Villante closed +235
Brendan Allen won the first two rounds against Kyle Daukaus, then survived a scary third round to win a unanimous decision. Allen closed -315 with the return on Daukaus +265
Takashi Sato clipped short notice replacement Jason Witt in the opening seconds, then put him away with hammerfists on the canvas to score a first round TKO. Sato was a -240 favorite while Witt was +205
Kay Hansen got off to a slow start against Jinh Yu Frey, but she started picking up momentum in hte second round, then took over in the third, where she tapped Frey out with an armbar. Hansen came through as a -225 favorite while Frey was a +195 underdog.
Jordan Griffin utilized his wrestling early, but Griffin was unable to keep up with Youssef Zalal in rounds two and three as Zalal took a unanimous decision. Zalal was -140. Griffin was +120
Underdogs that Won
Sean Woodson started strong against Julian Erosa, but Erosa turned the tide in the second round, then scored his first UFC victory in his fifth attempt with a third round D’Arce choke to pull off a massive upset. Erosa closed a massive +385 dog while Woodson was -485
For the second fight in a row, Khama Worthy pulled off a big upset against a solid prospect, choking out Luis Pena with a third round guillotine choke. Worthy was a heavy +210 underdog while Pena was -245.
Not know for his punching power, Tanner Boser clipped Philipe Lins with an overhand right, then followed up with ground and pound to knock the Brazilian out cold. Boser was a +107 underdog while Lins was -127
