Five Props is a column featured on MMAOddsbreaker.com after every major MMA event that highlights the biggest underdog prop bets to cash out from that card. Here are five UFC on ESPN 8 bets that cashed big based on the closing odds from across various sportsbooks.
1) Cortney Casey by Submission (+1100)
Cortney Casey was taken down in the first round by Mara Romero Borella, but Casey turned the tides by latching on an armbar from guard and forcing a quick tap. Casey by submission was the clear prop of the night at +1100.
2) Alistair Overeem wins in Round Two (+900)
It almost looked like Alistair Overeem was going to get finished quickly in the first round by Walt Harris, but “The Reem” recovered, grabbed top position and won the remainder of the round. Overeem then opened the second round with a head kick and finished Harris with ground and pound. Overeem’s second round victory was good for +900.
3) Kevin Holland by KO/TKO (+700)
Kevin Holland hadn’t scored a knockout in the UFC in six fights, but he made quick work of Anthony Hernandez, finishing him in 39 seconds after hurting Hernandez with an elbow and a knee. Holland by knockout closed at a cool +700.
4) Nate Landwehr wins by Decision (+375)
Both Nate Landwehr and Darren Elkins beat the tar out of each other for three rounds. Landwehr was the more technical striker, amd while Elkins was more active, Elkins also had his face turned into a bloody mess, which factored into the judges siding with Landwehr via unanimous decision. Landwehr by decision paid +375.
5) Dan Ige wins by Decision (+350)
Edson Barboza hurt Dan Ige in the first and second rounds, but Ige landed more strikes in the second and then finished the fight strong in top position in the third round. Ige by decision closed at +350.
A $100 parlay on these five props would have made you a millionaire with $2,051,900.
