With the UFC on Fox 8 card mostly going according to plan (only one underdog on the entire card won), there weren’t a whole lot of changes in the rankings after this event. Despite the main event of the evening being a flyweight title fight, the welterweight division was in focus on the night with two bouts on the main card, and that is where we see the only changes to the rankings. Previously #11 in the division, Rory MacDonald jumps up to #6 after picking up his biggest (although perhaps not most impressive win) over Jake Ellenberger. For his part, Ellenberger and everyone else who was ahead of Rory in the rankings, drops down one spot. Given that this weekend’s UFC 163 card doesn’t feature a whole lot of top flight talent, it is unlikely we’ll see many changes to the rankings following that card either, but stay tuned. Welterweight 1. Georges St-Pierre 2. Johny Hendricks 3. Carlos Condit 4. Demian Maia 5. Martin Kampmann 6. Rory MacDonald 7. Jake Ellenberger 8. Nick Diaz 9. Robbie Lawler 10. Josh Koscheck 11.
